Making Democracy Work

Candidate Forums

As part of our ongoing non-partisan mission to educate voters, the League of Women Voters of Glendale/Burbank organizes and hosts candidate forums. These forums are normally conducted for municipal elections for the City Councils and School Boards in Glendale and Burbank, state elections for members of the Assembly, the State Senate and the U.S. House of Representatives.

These forums are an excellent opportunity for citizens to meet the candidates, hear their points of view, and become familiar with the issues in upcoming elections.

In organizing these forums, the League invites all candidates to participate, and works with the local government television channels to broadcast the forums live, and then rebroadcast them up until the date of the applicable election. The League solicits questions to be asked of the candidates from the general public, by telephone and email, as well as from those in attendance at the forums.
